On the 2019, it's all controlled from the RHS switches on the steering wheel. There's no need to go in to any menus.
Lane Keep Assist is either on or off - just press the button to switch between the 2 states.
LIM, intelgent lim or cruise are selected uising the LIM button - turn LIM off to get cruise control. You can also adjust the cruise control distance to the vehicle in front with the up and down arrows.
You do all of this with your right thumb while holding the steering wheel.

Right ok. I’m wondering now if I’ve been inadvertently pressing LIM before trying to set cruise control.🤷🏻♂️
I’ll watch out for that but not knowing what LIM was, it’s kinda doubtful and knowing how cruise works as per the D4, I doubt it. Adaptive cruise, again……not something I’m ever gonna need but I’ve got a trek down to Fairford in Gloucs coming up for the annual RIAT camping bash so hopefully by then, I’ve got her out of rowing boat mode and more into the capable vehicle that I know it should be.
Can’t thank you enough for your help Moley old chap, at least you didn’t suggest to read the handbook.😂
Jon: Thankyou, that is great information and very useful to anybody struggling like myself.

You're welcome Ian, that's what this forum is for. I was in the same boat last year when I kept finding new fangled buttons, switches and stuff and I had no idea what it was for
Enjoy the camping mate

You have inadvertently engaged or selected the speed limiter instead of the cruise control. They can’t coexist, switch the speed limiter off it’s that simple.
If in doubt, have a look at the handbook.
If you’d read the thread, you’d know, I don’t have a handbook and switching off LIM is exactly what I’m trying to do but don’t know how. You’d also know, I haven’t inadvertently engaged anything either, try reading the thread. 🙄
Mole: Does LIM and Cruise both operate on the same selector switch can you recall?
What are these “centre” menus you refer to?
Online handbook! Paper handbooks haven’t been produced for a number of years. Everyone can access that and yes, you must have inadvertently selected the LIM. 🙄

I trust that your previous 800 posts were more helpful than your “try reading the handbook” comment?

Probably not, but the answer is there.
As I am sure as you’ll be aware from being an old hand on the D3/4 forum, a few over there would have said to you exactly as I did.

Ach, we got there in the end. There was lots of helpful info from everyone who contributed.
After all, I assumed that talking about
everything D5 and sharing the experiences, good or bad, is why we're all here in the first place. This would be a very boring and empty place if we all just sat at home reading the handbook or taking the car to the dealership to have the tyres pumped up
I'd still like to see more folks posting pics or stories, especially if they're getting their hands dirty working on their D5. I can't be the only one with a set of spanners...surely

I think one of the issues is that these vehicles have predominantly not fallen into the hands of budget car buyers yet. The budget lads tend to do anything and everything to save money and will obviously not be bothered about getting stuck in. There’ll be more talk about warranties and expensive factory options initially and this is reflected in many of the posts here. I’m sure once the D5 reaches its 10 years availability date and the prices start to drop, more and more lads will contribute as they try to work out cheaper and more affordable options without the big price tag.
Me……….Im just a tight northern bar steward who hates spending money unless it’s on fishing tackle.😂

Strangely enough...when I was perusing the 2nd hand Discos before I bought my D5, the D4's were keeping their prices where as the older ('17-'18 plate) D5's were dropping in price by the month.
I bought my low mileage (75k) '17 plate D5 HSE at the back end of last year for a similar price to a '15-'16 plate D4 HSE with the same mileage

Same here. I too noticed, low mileage, really nice, clean D4’s were holding up over £20k recently and for a really well equipped version, £25k and that’s money comparable with a D5 in my neck of the woods.

A genuine question...are you missing your D4 yet?
I was really in 2 minds about selling mine on, even after I had bought the D5. If it hadn't been for some weekend warrior green laner offering me silly money in cash, I'd have kept it. I spent a lot of time and effort bolting bits onto it in the time I had it...
That thing had enough of my blood spilled on it over the years it could have been a relative.
Don't get me wrong, I love the D5 and have absolutely no regrets in buying it...and I'll probably like it even more once I've bolted a few more shinys onto it and made it mine...if you know what I mean.
The Disco thing is personal for me...not really mine until I can spot it in a car park full of other Discos

I lavished a lot of love + attention on my D4 but it was time to move on.
I don’t particularly miss it but I do miss the familiarity of knowing how it operated etc. and what it’s capabilities were as I’m a bit confused by the super complicated D5 but that’s just user error.
Onward + upward.
