    6th injector

Greetings from Spain, excuse my translation.
I was recently driving and the engine started to vibrate very abruptly. Not seeing any solution, I called a tow truck and took it to the shop.
The diagnostics revealed a series of faults related to injector number 6. Reading the correction values for the six injectors with the engine running, they were all within the parameters except for number 6. We replaced the injector with a new one, with no results. The problem persists with number 6.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I'll check the wiring and signal on Monday.
I hope you can help me.

Apparently, this is common in SDV6s. The strange thing is that it currently has 140,000 km. I bought it in February with 124,000 km, and I've changed the oil twice.
Everything I've read refers to insufficient maintenance or the use of non-specific oil.
I always use the specific one.

I've owned a D3 MY04 for over 16 years. I've always used MOTUL or CASTROL oil, changing it before 15,000 km, and it's still running at 300,000 km.

What brands of oil do you use for this engine?

    CASTROL
    LIQUI MOLY
    MOTUL
may be my favorites, but now that I've decided to repair it, I want to start with a brand that's truly the right one.

I use fully synthetic Castrol Edge Professional 5W 30 in my 2017 TD6...not because it's recommended by Land Rover but because it's a premium oil brand that I've used and trusted for many years. It also suits the 3.0L diesel engine, climate where I live, driving conditions, etc, etc.

All those brands you mentioned are very good branded oils. Out of the 3, I'd chose between Castrol or Motul like you. Manufacturer recommended oil brands are just that...a recommendation. It's partly dependent on who makes the engine and where it was made...it's not really any more complicated than that.

Land Rover are a British company and the engines are Ford based, so a recommendation for a highly trusted British oil brand that figures big in the American automotive industry isn't too surprising.

Always use a quality branded oil and stick to it, that's a given. If Land Rover recommend Castrol Edge, then it's not a bad idea to keep using it. Along with regular oil and filter changes every 8,000-9,000 km or so, your engine as it gets older will thank you for it in the end Wink
