Disabling Auto Stop/Start using the GAP IID tool

A small CCF tweak with the IID tool to have the auto stop/start remembering what it was last set to instead of being enabled by default on every engine start...

Before starting this operation, please make sure your battery is good and fully charged, uploading new CCF values into the ECU's takes a couple of minutes...

A disclaimer... Changing certain CCF values are generally something you don't want to be randomly messing with, you can brick your nice Land Rover should you try playing with certain functions or parameters. Stick to what you're confident with changing. Always save your cars default CCF values before making any changes so you can restore them if needed. The IID tool is a powerful bit of kit, so use it accordingly.

That said and out of the way...Plug in your IID tool. Wink

Start the engine and select the auto stop/start switch to off...

With the engine running, fire up the IID tool app on your phone or tablet and go into Car config.

Select all then wait for the complete CCF list to load then search for MultiCAN-566 MHLastUserMode in the search box (or do it the hard way and scroll down the huge list till you find it) and change the Last User Memory Mode option from disabled to Enabled.

Upload the new settings and wait for the car to update the ECU's and relearn the operation (takes a couple of minutes or so). The IID tool will walk you through this stage. Once completed and the car has been power cycled, next time you use the auto stop/start button it'll work as per the CCF change.

This small CCF change doesn't permanently disable or effect the operation of the auto stop/start in any way, it only sets the function from being enabled by default on every engine start to actually remembering what it was last set to. If the last setting selected was disabled, it'll default to that when you start the engine.

If you want to enable or disable the auto stop/start at any time...just use the button as normal.

I've tested this on the Bling Barge, it works Mr. Green

Apart from sticking silly bling bits and after market mods on it, I've done the usual IID tool service related stuff like calibrating the suspension heights, checking the DPF pressures and soot levels in live data when I cleaned and flushed the DPF, resetting the HVAC and the service interval after oil and filter changes etc. Besides the basic stuff and changing the auto stop/start CCF option, I've not really messed around with sampling the rest of the forbidden fruit hidden away in the CCF list with the IID tool... yet. Wink

All the usual attractive tweaks like enabling the adaptive cruise control and digital dash options only work on the 2018+ D5's...same with enabling dynamic and configurable dynamic mode settings, certain performance tweaks or Eco mode.

Saying that, I haven't tried enabling dynamic and dynamic-i modes on mine yet to see if it works...I'm not sure if enabling the dynamic mode will effect my capability plus pack for instance...it may be a case of having one or t'other but not both, I've no idea. More research required.

My Bling Barge is an early 2017 TD6 HSE with the analogue speedo and tacho. It had practically the full suite of available toys already factory enabled or fitted before I got it fortunately... but I'm still experimenting to see what else I can and can't do with the current GAP firmware.

Amazing tool the GAP IID...and well worth a poke around in the CCF's if you're the curious type and don't mind the risk of invalidating warranties or the like...

If anyone else who uses an IID tool discovers any generic L462 TD6/SDV6 CCF tweaks and settings, please post them up, I'll do the same Thumbs Up
