    Update

I tried to check the relay in the passenger fuse board with my new relay tester and …..

So i then done the old way with some wires across legs 1 & 2 to trigger it off a battery
And my multi meter on legs 3 & 5 to see if it opens and it does.
I checked the board where the relay came from and power was there to leg 2

so I cleaned the the 4 spades with some wet and dry paper (240 grit) and put it back in. By the way it’s a horrid thing to take out and just as bad putting back in
I had to use some long long nose pliers
Once back in I touched the relay to feel the click and I did when the ignition was on

I then check fuse 27 (5amp) and noticed how dull the contact legs were so cleaned then with wet and dry too (could have used a new fuse but couldn’t be bothered to go fetch one )
I done the same with fuse 40 (20amp)

I also check if power was present at the fuses and it was
Here’s a closer look at the relay faces

I then went and pulled the socket from the fuel burner under the bonnet and check for voltage on the grey/ red wire and Very Happy it has power now

I then got my remote like mole said plugged the main socket back together and held the off button for 3 seconds to program the remote.
I did start and stopped the car because it says in the manual you only get o e cycle Fbh per ignition

I pressed heat on the fob and I heard the fan work but no burn yet Thumbs Up
Main thing is getting somewhere with it
Sorry if I’ve droned on I’m typing on my phone

    Sounds like progress.

If it's a warmish day, only the fans will run. It needs to be a cool day (15C or less I think) to get the burner to fire.

So the tester didn't have the slots for that relay?..typical Neutral

You had it sussed it anyway with the old school method. Like Jon said, the burner will only fire up on a cold engine and below 15 °c...so with the fan coming on, it looks like it's working.

If you check on the Remote app under the climate setting, by all rights it should show the FBH as an option now as well. You'll probably have to sign out of the app fully and log back in first.

Looks like a result Thumbs Up

Sorry about the late replay Dazz...we've had no electricity since early this morning, only came back on an hour ago.

The Leccy board said something about widespread damage to their network infrastructure due to hurricane Amy dropping trees onto the lines...It must have been south on the mainland UK as there's been no trees on this island since the Vikings were here and cut them all down to make longships Rolling Eyes

Hi mole , I did think that tbh

I’ve tried logging out and even reinstalling the app but still no options change

But I’m sure we’ll sort it out
Can’t believe the one relay I need to test is an odd sized one 😂

The main thing is to get the FBH working with both the onboard timed climate centre screen menu and with the remote fob. Once it's definitely working with both those options...we can sort the LR Remote app out.

You might need to go back to relinking the car to the app...with pressing the roof console button etc... Only if the FBH works with the onboard timed climate operation though...otherwise the Remote app possibly won't pick it up and offer the option for FBH climate start.

When you first linked the car to the app...the FBH wasn't working so the app might not have recognised it has an FBH fitted.

Something isn’t right definitely, I’ve now got a new license for the car from gap and the Fbh was showing as locked out so I’ve cleared that now and tried the fob but nothing

I’ll check everything for power again and go from there

What your saying about the app was what I was thinking too

I've been doing some digging on FBH's and which models are fitted to what JLR products. That remote fob you've got...it's the wrong type and it won't work with your FBH. That T91R type of fob is for the Webasto heaters... the later Eberspächer Easystart FBH's fitted to the D5's and later model RR's etc need the remote fob like mine.

Here's the difference...and how you can tell which fob goes with which make of FBH.

If you can't find one on Ebay or whatever...the Eberspächer fobs are harder to come by than the T91R Webasto ones... I'll post you mine down for nowt...I'll never use the damned thing again, not now they've added the FBH to the Remote app, so it'll just end up sitting in the kitchen drawer.

It works fine, also got a brand new battery in it. If it needs reprogramming to your FBH (try it first), it'll probably be the same or similar method as the T91R fob...that's easily sussed out.

Just PM me your address etc and I'll stick it in the post Thumbs Up

    👍🏻 thanks mole
I’ll send address over once I’ve researched into making sure it work with the timed climate just to make sure the Fbh is working

Now that's thrown a spanner in the works...thanks Jon Rolling with laughter

I know that Dazz has exactly the same FBH as mine though...I checked the label on mine and it's the same as the one he posted up a few pages back. Eberspächer Easystart.

Should be fine...fingers crossed etc Whistle

I like to be helpful Rolling with laughter

If I remember correctly, didn't the D4/D3 have a receiver module for the remote somewhere in a rear quarter? Surely the remote needs to match the receiver and the receiver needs to be working correctly as well?

The reprogramming of new or replacement remote fobs is the same on all Webasto heaters, I know from replacing my T91R fob for the D4 after I accidentally ran it over and squished it Rolling Eyes
I just bought a generic replacement Webasto T91R style fob from Ebay and paired it up with my original Webasto heater.

Since the fobs are electronically generic in manufacture, I suspect the Eberspächer fobs will be the same or similar process as the T91R for pairing to any individual FBH/receiver.

It's just an ultrasonic remote on a certain frequency...so the same process as pairing up a new/replacement remote for a SKY Q box or TV etc.
