I get practically all my bits and bobs from these guys... PowerfulUK,

The LED units they do in white, red, blue and purple I think. The 4 door puddle LED's come in a pack, same with the 2 front footwell LED units...or the 4 boot LED units.

    Air vent

Front end transformation just about complete now. Have done the black bonnet lettering and the air scoop inserts today also in black to compliment last weeks grille change.

    Here’s the before + after:

Quite happy with the transformation so far, wing mirror covers in black and rear boot lettering are next on the list.😃
Oh yeah, and paint the front + rear tow eye covers too, might do the tailpipe outers too at the rear.

I like the new addition to the spoiler vents. Did you need to remove the existing plastic grill to fit these or do they stay in place?

I posted this video on the previous page...very simple DIY process, no tools or removing bits required.

In my desire to continue with the “black pack” look, I was considering using a vinyl wrap on the wing mirror covers but haven’t done any wrapping before. It looks simple enough but I’m curious to learn if anybody has tried wrapping automotive parts and whether it was successful. Have you tried and was the finished result acceptable?

I don’t suppose it can really go wrong as I’ll still have the covers if it doesn’t give the desired effect.🤷🏻‍♂️

I was tempted by vinyl wraps...but besides the D5 bonnet vinyl (which I still haven't applied) I've absolutely no idea on how difficult they are to apply on smaller, curved bits like mirror caps. I've seen some professionally applied full body matt coloured wraps and they look proper lovely...no idea on pricing though.

The bonnet vinyl I added to the D4 was simple enough with no faffing about with heat guns or anything. It came with a squeegee in the box...bar a spray bottle with a mix of Johnson's baby shampoo and water used when applying the vinyl and a fair bit of squeegeeing the bubbles out...it was fairly straight forward on a big flat bit like the bonnet.

To be honest, I just cheated and bought a pair of replacement black mirror caps for £50 rather than go to the effort of vinyl wrapping the original white ones...I was briefly tempted by carbon fibre look ones but that would have meant wrapping all the other black bits in carbon fibre vinyl to match. Agreed. I bought a black set of mirror caps from PowerfulUK which were great quality and easy to fit @ £49.00. It also leaves you with the option of selling the spare set or reinstating back to original before sale time.

Thanks for this, but do you still keep in the original grill? I noticed in the video he puts his hand in the gap which would assume there is no grill in that vehicle

The grills don’t come out…they are well back from the edge of the vent. The black ‘trims’ are merely that ….around the edge of the vent

I've bought 90% of my accessories and blingy bits from PowerfulUK, even back when I had the D4...for the simple fact that if they sell it in their web store, they have a video of them fitting it and trying it out, all from a home DIY enthusiast's perspective...from mirror caps to the more complicated stuff.

Normally, I too would get parts from PowerfulUK, however as a northerner with a reputation to maintain and becase I figured I’d never get around to selling the old mirror covers and they’d just gather dust, coupled with the fact I do already have a set of perfectly serviceable mirror covers, I reasoned it would be wise to at least attempt to wrap them…….nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that. I think I’ve mansplained that.😜

Anyway, I fancy the carbon look covers and can, if successful, wrap them both for around £10, plus if I don’t like the look, it’s a quick way to go back to the start.

Looks good but doesn't it also need power from the battery to function. What is it pulling?
