    rattle in driver door cured

I mentioned in another post about a rattle when shutting the drivers door. Sounding like metal rattling on metal. Land rover indi when i was in there last said that sometimes one of the cables in the doors are not clipped back properly. I had read about the door skin coming away from the strengtheners that runs across the door. So today i thought i would investigate, as that along with a squeaky brake pedal was driving me insane. Stripped the door, and as thought the door skin had come unbonded from the strengthening bar that runs across the door, (photos attached). I have put a little acoustic foam between the panels, and then run panel glue across the small gap it produced, so to get a good fill of panel glue.
Door now doesn't sound like a tin can, and hopefully it will stop the rattle when going over bumps.
Then onto the brake pedal, with that i removed the small plastic panel by the pedals and obd port. Spayed all linkages and pivot points with white grease. Seems to have stopped it rattling for now at least.

Squizzel, you're a star. Bow down

As I mentioned in that other thread, I've got exactly the same issue with the driver's door having a tinny rattle like an old transit van when I shut it. The other doors are fine.

I thought it was the window regulator cables in my door vibrating like I mentioned at the time...but it looks like that door strengthener coming unbonded may well be the issue. Once the weather has improved a huge bit or after my trip to the stealership for the N877 security update next week, I'll strip my door down and do the same fix.

It'll also give me a chance to check the window regulator cables for any sign of rusting as I haven't had to replace the regulator on that door...yet. Rolling Eyes

I've got a new window regulator on the spares shelf in the garage for when I do need to replace it though. I bought it (just in case) when I replaced the OS rear one a couple of months ago. Mr. Green

    Nice one mate Thumbs Up
