    And that’s my problem!

I’ll have a better group about in the morning, this is taking up way too much head space!

After having a think about the rear grab handles and when I took mine off...or specifically the liner where they're fitted, it's not just soft fabric liner like the roof, it's a cardboard type liner with a narrow gap behind it and small 2 rectangular holes cut into it where a rectangular plastic block on the rear of the grab handles fits into. Even feeling the liner around the grab handles wouldn't work since there's a narrow space behind it where those block-bits on the actual grab handles fit into.

The only way to demonstrate what I mean is if you remove one of the other grab handles to see exactly what I'm on about. It'll be obvious then why you can't feel the threaded holes where the handles screw into.

It's quite possible that the threaded holes are there for the rear grab handles...but you wouldn't be able to tell unless you cut holes in that cardboard liner...which is all a bit drastic if it turns out the threaded holes aren't there. Neutral

You are correct - had it all to bits and taken out one of the handles, do you or anyone else reading this know how to remove the roof liner, partially?

I’ve had a micros camera up there and can’t be sure if there is a threaded bracket or not.

I haven't had cause to take my roof lining off yet, Nick. Perhaps someone who's fitted a rear dash cam will know since the cable for that is usually run along the bottom edge of the roof liner...

I'd assume that you can pull the bottom edge of the liner up to have a look behind by pulling off the rubber seal around the top of the rear doors ...access to the bottom edge of the liner around where the the rear grab handles should be might mean removing the plastic trim on the C pillar though. I'm only guessing since I've not had to do it on mine...

I still find it strange that your '23 plate HSE doesn't have the rear grab handles, after all, it's got the 3rd row seats...same as every other D5... with the exception of the commercials I think. Neutral

Mine is a bit of an oddity though, besides being a fairly early D5, first registered 2nd of March 2017. I'm it's 3rd registered owner...but apart from myself and the 2nd owner who had it for just over 2 years before I bought it, the first owner's details are missing from the V5 database.

It also has a few extra factory fitted optional bits and bobs over the base HSE spec. The original registration number is a Land Rover management OY plate. Chances are that it's possibly an ex Land Rover Experience vehicle with it being white.
