  Front seats after dropping rear seats

  I’ve got a problem that’s probably user error but I can’t seem to sort it.
  When I open the tailgate and drop the rear ( row 2 ) seats, the front seats move forward. They never return to their original position which makes getting in the front of the car after moving the rear seats impossible.
  Should the front seats return to their correct driving positions and what am I doing wrong please?
  
  The rear seats are lowered by a button that’s in the load space. Sequence appears to be:
  Press button
  Headrests drop ( rear )
  Front seats move forward.
  Rear seats fold.
  
  Should I keep holding the button also?
