Insurance for Disco 5
We are due to move house in a weeks time and I let our insurance company know (we insure the house, contents and cars with them) in good time. My D5 was bought in 2020 and has always been sat on the drive both at our previous and current address and was expecting to leave it on the drive at our new home. Shock of shocks - the underwriters have placed an endorsement on the policy stating the Disco must be garaged at home between 10pm and 7am! Ok, we have a double garage at the new address so it is wide enough, just long enough but not sure the door is high enough.
Can anyone suggest an insurance company that will take on new business with a Discovery and not likely to place restrictions such as the garaging on the car?

Insurance is so personal that what is good for one person won't be for another.
For renewal quotes I try NFU, Landrover Insurance and the comparison sites. Most years I seem to end up with NFU to get the cover I need, but there are cheaper quotes on the comparison sites.

I’ve had silly requirements placed on me when I was having all my insurance through one company. I know it’s more convenient but less flexible when it comes to price comparison.
I run my details through moneysupermarket.com 25, 26, 27, 28days before the insurance is due. I am often surprised the price difference a few days make (currently 10% on same insurance provider) . A couple of years back Aviva declined to quote. I went with a little known company (something like General Direct??) who turned out to be a separate digital insurers company…owned by Aviva. Go figure. Loads of those insurers are underwritten by Aviva.

Tesco insurance do my D5 plus SWMBO F Type. Cant beat the premiums, excellent website / app and no silly requirements. Give em a try.
Or alternatively Aviva. Good premiums and paid my Son out on a total loss within 7 days. He stuck with them and they did not take the p*ss on renewals.

I've stuck with Bank of Scotland for my car insurance for years now. They're now underwritten by AXA who took over from Aviva last year. I can also manage my car insurance through my banking app...which is handy.
Come renewal time, BoS have consistently quoted me close to the lowest price offered on comparison sites, not always the lowest but close enough that I'm not tempted to jump ship. The one time they quoted me over £500 for a renewal, a phone call had them reign their quote back to some realistic numbers.

Thanks for all the replies.
It turned out that my current insurance company will no longer offer motor insurance from renewals! I tried Land Rover Insurance - reasonable premium, rolling monthly contract, no charges for changes, leave whenever you want, good cover and NO SILLY RESTRICTIONS!!! I will see how it goes.
