Faulty window regulator
Does the L462 Discovery suffer a design flaw given that the window regulators fail as the cable corrodes?
This fault appears more predominant in the disco compared with other landrover models.
A year ago, I had the drivers window regulator replaced under warranty.
This year, both the rear window regulators failed.
Whereas in the past failing window regulators were covered by the LR extended warranty, this no longer appears to be the case. The justification being corrosion.
No car window are watertight and are designed to allow water to run down the inside of the door and out the bottom, so what is going on with the discovery that the cables corrode? The only saving grace is that it only takes ~30 mins to replace the window mechanism, as shown in the video in this post.

The cables on the window regulators aren't greased in the factory during assembly...hence why they eventually rust and snap frequently.
After market regulators come with pre-greased cables...OE ones don't...or certainly, the NS front OE one I fitted wasn't. The OS rear I bought from eBay was...go figure.
