    Paint rubbed from top of rear door reveals

    Hi guys, just asking if anyone else has even noticed the paint missing from the top of the passenger door reveals from the rubber and I can only guess sand/grit
    I’m going to sort out the paint but looking to use a vinyl film over it to try and stop the rub








    Few pics of what it’s done, had the car 12 months now and ok y just noticed this issue.
    Does anyone else know of this as a common problem [/img]

    Did you buy the vehicle new (in which case it seems to be 12 months old) or second hand?
    If second hand how old is it ?

    I used a coloured Sharpie permanent marker pen on mine. It worked fine although once a year had to reapply.

    It's hard to notice on mine with it being white...but I checked today and I have the same type of scuffs.

    I used a colour matched paint sharpie like Darras to get rid of it temporarily.

    Bad design issue then, the car is 2017 but I’ve had it 12 months so I’ve got some touch up paint coming but for a more permanent I’m thinking a vinyl cover black or red
    What ever I do I’ll put some pics on

    The vinyl sounds the best idea Dazz, I'd be interested in how you tackle it if you decide on that..

    It's the same as the scuff marks at the bottom corners of the boot lid on older D5's...open and close the boot enough times over the years and they all show the same scuff marks on the plastic trim and bumper. They're usually valeted away before you buy the car from a dealer...but they don't take long in reappearing. Neutral

    Thanks for the heads up. Checked mine, the clearcoat has rubbed off but it’s not quite through the paint yet. Now I’m wondering whether I should spray a new bit of clearcoat on or apply some xpel ppf (Tesla is in for full cover at the moment, sure I can get some offcuts for nothing). My only concern with a strip of ppf is whether it would make the seal leak on the transition from ppf to no ppf.

    Looks like another area to watch is where the door meets the top of the arch, seems less affected but I can see some signs of wear.
