Hi, my car seems to a long way behind on the software updates and was last updated in 2022.
I'm guessing the car should accept the current update but not sure why it's not updating.
So far I've tried the following:
Reset system by holding down the on/off button for 10 seconds.
Have done a factory reset of the system and set it back up again.
The battery has been disconnected a couple of times as I had the drivers airbag off.
Have connected the car to the house wi-fi and it is enable for a mobile connection as well.
Have made sure I'm logged in to my in control account.
I'm starting to struggle for what to do next and I can't find an option to check for updates, I just get the screen attached below.
Is there a way to force an update on the system?
You certainly are a long way behind, 4.5 is rolling out now (although mine is still on 4.4 at the moment).
Dealers can plug their computer in and push the upgrade on but there isn't any way you can persuade it to update itself automatically if it hasn't decided to do it.

Just to confirm for anyone in the same situation that the car does need to go to the dealer for software update issues.
I did have a chat with Pat at GAP but there is no way to push the updates using the GAP IID tool.
The dealer took a while but eventually updated various modules and replaced the battery in the telematics unit and the car then updated.
The only thing I’m not sure about is that I’m being told that based on my vin the latest update available is 3.2.0.
Mine is an October 2021 facelift car so would appreciate if anyone with a similar age vehicle could check to see if theirs has updated beyond this.
This is the message I now get on the software update screen.
My previous D5 was a MY21 D300. It got to version 4.2.1 before I sold it. There is no indication that the updates stop for older cars.

Thanks Jon, I thought that was the case but just needed a bit of back up.
This information came from LR technical and even the service agent didn’t think it was right.
As it is now updating again I’ll keep an eye on it and see if it updates further over the next week or so.
