I filled up with fuel for the first time yesterday. According to the gauge it will do 464 miles on a tank full !!
Not sure what anyone else is getting but may be possible to hit the 500 miles once engine has been run in??
Not had the car past 70 mph, so driving has been quite placid, not to mention mostly town driving. Yesterday was only the cars second long trip out of town since I picked it up. I only use Shell fuel or BP.
My range after fuelling was 538. I drove to wickford and around Romford total range was 621 miles, app showing 41.2mpg, haven't done any calculations to see how accurate that figure is.
Current range at the moment

Running on Shell fuelsave diesel, that's all that goes in except one tankful of Texacos finest at Wickford.
Well the town driving has probably killed the mpg, not to mention the intermittent stop start which has a mind of its own. So the magical 500 mark is achievable.
My car had a 60 litre tank. 300 miles on a long run, but town driving crippled me with only 200 miles on a full tank.
I thought you had a 2 litre J77

Haha you know I was only pulling your leg mate. I know full well that you have a 3 l from previous posts.
You forgot to mention Irn Brew also comes in 2 litres
We get around 460 miles out of a tank and that's pretty mixed driving, my wife does the school run each day so lots of short runs. Fuel economy was better in the X5 but I guess this is heavier in any case.
I don't want to speak too soon but we've had 10 days of trouble free motoring so far, longest stretch ever!
When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.
That's a decent range, better than my current D4. So that's around 24mpg (the Petrol version has a slightly larger 19.5 gallon (89litres) tank) which is better mpg's and range than I thought we'd get.
Whoah! In that case the Diesels pretty bad I get about 28mpg from my D4 at the moment with quite lead footed driving.
I was asking about the petrol engine in the D5 , I thought there was only one - the 3.0 Si6, I wouldn't get a 2.0 litre in the D5. When I looked at the LR mpg figures I guessed it'd probably do between 20-22mpg in reality. Looks like I was about right unfortunately.
D5 is better by a margin that previous 2 D3s and 2 D4s. Computer still gives a horribly optimistic readout. Need a few more miles and litres to give a more accurate steer, but there is not doubt that it is more economic.
