From what I understand, you can use your phones data for the connected Nav & Live Apps but it has to be plugged in, not just connected by Bluetooth?
Am I reading/interpretating this correctly?
I think that's for InControl apps rather than live apps.

I will use this Sim
On the RRS site several people are using a Three sim that provides 12gb that is valid for 12 months.
It costs £22.99 and has the benefit of working in France which is useful for me.

At that price it seems to be a good option.

Direct from the LR website
Yes, a Micro SIM vehicled with mobile data enabled is required to power the InControl Connect Pro package. Insert your SIM vehicled into the interface panel in the centre console storage compartment, and make sure you’ve enabled Mobile Data in the connectivity settings menu. Go to the settings icon in any screen > All settings > Features > Connectivity > Mobile data on
You can also share your smartphone’s data connection by enabling the phone’s Internet Sharing, Personal Hotspot or Tethering feature. Please check with your mobile network provider to verify this feature is supported by your current phone tariff.
I think this answers your questions, yes you can use your phone

Thanks J77, I think after all this I am going to use the Three sim as it is inexpensive and will work in France.
Saves having to tether and gets over the occasions when I forget to take my phone with me!!

I think using the sim will be the best way, saves getting a massive phone bill.

Amazon also has a 24gb version on Prime Now for under £30, I bought one on Sunday but now not listed on the main Amazon site. At these prices it is cheaper to buy a new one than top up which is £25 for 7Gb
Stock may vary but if you see one then maybe worth grabbing one,

FYI Might be worth checking with your Mobile provider, for SWMBO's car (not a landrover) i got a sharing sim for my mobile contract that uses my unlimited data. They gave it me free but i do have another 4 "paid" sims sharing my data as well

The Amazon deals were/are with Three, but they also offer others as well. They are labelled "Internet with Legs" in different capacities.
I can only see the 24 version in the Prime Now app which shows stock in the local distribution centre for your delivery postcode. I am guessing when they go this version will not be replenished.

The same one then, but a higher capacity.
I am not sure that the Incontrol Pro would use more than 12gb in a year.
Maybe if I used it it as a hotspot as well, but that is unlikely.

Absolutely, but with two kids who think hardship is a location without WIFI, I will probably have a good go at burning through it over the years SIM validity for the Hotspot. I would agree the 12 is probably more than enough if you are not going to hammer the hotspot and just use the Apps. (The one I bought on Sunday is now down to 10Gb but that is streaming Netflix and Sky Go while confined to an isolation room in hospital, so I will cut him and Mum a bit of slack)
If you can get it and need the hotspot then worth the small premium, but actually the 12Gb option is great for this use case. It is just a shame the future top ups also time out after a month as well as being expensive. It means you are better to use and dispose.

Hi Sufun,
Do you have access to these data only plans, I could not easily find them on the Three site?
I really have no need for minutes and texts as it will be in the car's sim.
Cheers
