Interesting - I wonder how the Live services would know whether you're connecting via a hotspot or direct via the SIM except maybe through a caller ID service noticing it's connecting through a specific mobile device number associated with your vehicle. The MAC address would be the same either way, and I can't see Land Rover caring one way or another because any kickback they get from the carrier has to be so small per subscription as to be insignificant.
I'll see how it works this afternoon on the way home. I popped out to the parking lot to set it up and I could search/find addresses, and it seemed to be getting traffic data, but I haven't tried any of the other Live features.
Just wish they'd give us Android Auto / Apple Car Play already.

I tried it this afternoon. Turned on the phone hotspot, turned off mobile data, and played with the connected features.
- Live seemed to work, but Live is pretty lame, really. The news, rather than being a podcast, is read by the same voice as the satnav, in the same chunky style, from a print article. Nowhere near Alexa /Google Assistant /Siri smoothness. But the data connection was there.
- Satnav told me I was offline for searching, but it seemed to be online for traffic. Not sure what's up there, as that makes no sense.
