    Rear wash / wipe

Noticed that my rear wash wipe does a weird thing. Well weird to me.

Hit the button and the water shoots out and the wiper wipes as expected. Then the wiper stays deployed for a few seconds, does another wipe and stays deployed again before returning.

    Is this normal?

My non-landrover does that too. Think it's too clean up any dribbles!

Ah, OK. Other cars rear wiper return ‘home’ then simply do another wipe. Like the front wipers do to clear the dribbles.

I think it's ingenious - most wipers on intermittent wipe move back across a dry windshield, which wears out the wiper blade more quickly. This seems more efficient to me.

It’s well thought out certainly. I thought at first the wiper had settled in the wrong position then it did another wipe. Returned to the deployed position and then a final wipe back to its stowed position.

Reason I was concerned was the Disco Sport had rear wiper issues that left it in the deployed state. You had to manually trigger another wipe to return it. Dealer had to reset it to fix it.
