Probably minus 24-26 tonight which is well below the average , we don’t normally get this cold until mid Jan or Feb.. I have to say that the cabin quickly warms up, and the heated steering wheel is very comforting.

I took a drive up around Pike's Peak here in Colorado...was up around 11,000 feet on bone-dry 4x4 trails that should have been impassable with snow and ice this time of year. Just a little ice around some spring seeps and either side of a creek crossing to make the exits sporting. Buried a wheel in an ice hole on one of the seeps...spent a few minutes playing with the settings to get it unstuck - three wheels on ice, one in a 2-foot deep hole. Mud/ruts, DSC off, measured throttle application in reverse eventually did the trick. Tried out my new AT tires and they were brilliant - Cooper Discoverer AT3 in 275/55-20. Handled ruts, rocks, and 16degree off-camber trails without drama.
Great truck...tough as nails. Unfortunately will probably have to wait for Second Winter (also known as March and April) to have much snow down here on the Front Range. The central mountains are starting to get some snow, so I'll have some fun during Jan-Feb ski trips too.
DieselRanger,
Any noticeable difference in engine performance at 11,000? Do you add any additives to the diesel fuel for the very cold temps in the high altitude?

Torque for days!! It doesn't struggle at all, even on steep stuff. Turbos, especially the variable-vane kind as in the Td6, generally don't lose any power until around 10,000 feet, and even then it's not really noticeable.
I would normally add a cetane booster if I was going to be at elevation for a few days, but for a day trip it's not really necessary.
