Moving on
Well after almost a year with the D5, it’s time to move on. It’s been a largely positive experience but decided to downsize. Deal was only available this month, they wouldn’t guarantee a deal in March, as the anti diesel witch hunt and Brexit has prices all over the place.
After a bit of effort to get a deal I’ve went for
Velar R-Dynamic SE
2.0 SD4 240
Fuji white
Privacy glass
It’s a nice spec so never really needed to add anything
So it’s being built as we speak. Should pick it up in a fortnight.

Hope everything works out for you. Enjoyed your posts. Just one thing you are aware the Velar is a land rover? Did you just feel left out of all the issues the rich boys were having with the infortaiment system so desided to jump in.

Found a home for the 19” wheels. They are on a D5 in Orkney.
The twin screens initially I didn’t like, but as I spent time using them they became more familiar, still not as easy as using buttons, could really do with some sort of feedback. It’s a LR though so I expect the usual pain, anguish and general suffering that LR ownership brings
Jim, I’m on my 10th LR so no stranger to faults, I’m under no illusion. I’ve yet to join the Velar forum though. One positive is my dealer has yet to see a Velar with the early service warning on.

J77, enjoy the new car. Hopefully you will not need a Velar forum.
They must be reliable cars as I don't think Martin has set up a forum for them yet?
Keep us posted on here or Disc04 how you get on.
So far since 2006 I have been fairly lucky with LR cars, but now I have said that..............................
could be just around the corner

I’ve been pretty lucky, my D3 needed a new engine, thankfully it was still under warranty. Other than that it’s just been minor niggles.

Well after just being told that the new car was arriving on Friday, it rolled up outside the dealership on transporter today, but according to the system it’s still at the factory
So hopefully get it Thursday.
