Hi Road Runner - after 4,500km I’m really pleased with the decision overall. It’s still a heavy vehicle but being a few hundred kilos lighter than the D4 I would say the petrol is a good choice. Good to have the power and acceleration at the higher revs again after all the years of diesel...

Fuel consumption is an adjustment Laughing (although not a dramatic difference to the D4 SDV6) plus paying the price difference. Luxembourg is still cheap fuel (relatively speaking) but a €100 euro fill up on French motorway when driving down to Spain last week hurt a bit ...but no one goes into Land Rover ownership with economy in mind... Laughing

Long distance drive seemed to be smoother and calmer compared to the D4 - but a lot of that must also be down to the new vehicle design etc. However having driven a friend’s petrol D4 (and he having driven mine) the engine does seem to be better in the D5.

And no turbo, EGR, DPF or crank issues to worry about.... Whistle

(The above is not an invitation to go searching on Aussie and US forums to point out any petrol engine problems.... Wink I’d rather not know for now...)

    Thats excellent. Smile

I will be putting up a post as soon as i get feedback from the Mrs.

She is loving it up till now. No issues at all, touch wood.

Cars just passed the 1000 mile run in mark, so i will stretch its legs on the dual carriageway over the weekend, if she lets me.

Eager too put the foot down too see just how good the acceleration is on the supercharged engine compared too the diesel. Only 1 second difference if that, 0-60 mph.

(Last 4 Discos were all diesel, so the petrol unit is new territory too us) Laughing
