French Toll tag and HUD windscreen

I have a new tag for the French Autoroutes and it is installed in the speckled area of the windscreen.

However today we have tried to use it for the first time and no response from the barrier electronics.

The only thing difference with the D5 to previous cars is that I have HUD and I believe this has a different screen?

Anyone with HUD and a French tag that is working?

I can’t give a definitive answer as to whether it is because of the HUD but I had a similar issue first time at the peage with the D5 at Easter...There is a clear(er) section of the windscreen left and right of the black crosshatch area. That is clear for toll tags etc.

Take a look at this thread - about half way down the first page there is a picture (not mime...) that shows the clear area where the tag should be placed

Thanks Stiff. Mine is standard screen. Have put mine in the shaded area to the left of the rear view mirror as suggested in the manual and on the SANEF website. Are we saying that this won’t work?

That space is there for the heat reflective windscreen - so if you don’t have that then I suppose it should work. That’s where I always placed it in previous Discoveries 👍

Mine is in the speckled area to the side of the clear area ringed in jambo's photo

We did try holding it in the clear area and it still did not work, that clear area still has the heated screen "mesh".

Hence the question about HUD being the issue.
