I haven't tried this, however I have CoPilot, HERE, Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps on my phone, not to mention LR Route planner.
I've had many a sat nav system in previous cars too and I must say I am actually very impressed with the LR in-car sat nav. Not only does it seem to do good routing (apart from the odd 'funny routes, but you get that with any sat nav!) But you also have the advantages of having the LR routing app on the phone which syncs with the car, good traffic and up to date road speed indicators if you use a sim in the car and also the options to display a google terrain map instead. Oh and also the built in camera site info is good too.
Seems that LR also do update the road details quite regularly too.

Nice... but LR is not so friendly everywhere. I have a full spec HSE lux, but LR decided that Eastern Europe, more specific the Balkans, have no right for a built in sim... so no incontrol apps and all those goodies, absolutely ridiculous if you ask me and the opposite of consumer friendliness.
And even the WiFi connection doesn’t work... another software bug I hope.

In control apps work off your phone sim AFAIK

But than your car should be able to get connection and internet from your phone, which is not working in my car, most probably the dealer will replace the whole unit and hopefully it will work afterwards...

If you get a wireless hot spot device and leave it plugged into the car you can connect the car to it for live services.
Or use the phone as a hot spot.
