Amber LED roof strobe options?
With the D5 coming soon, I've been trying to find a suction mount roof mini light bar / strobe for occasional use.
I rarely need to attend incidents on the roads and at the moment carry a mag-mount beacon in the D4.
Obviously, mag-mount isn't an option for an aluminium and glass roof. Permanent stobes in the grill and rear would be over the top for the rare use they'd get and a roof bar mounted option would be too bulky and time consuming to fit and remove. Drilling a hole in the roof is definitely not an option.
Does anyone know a supplier of reasonably priced suction mounted roof top LED strobes (or has anyone got a better suggestion)?

Can you get something that will fit a roof bar?
How do you use the mag mount one in the D4? Just using gravity? When I bought the D4 I didn't know it was an all aluminium shell, took one of the kids out for a driving lesson and couldn't attach the magnetic L plates

The D4 is only aluminium on the tailgate and bonnet. The roof is steel (except where it's glass) so you can use a mag-mount on the D4 roof.

Ok I stand corrected. TBH I didn't try to attach the magnetic L plates to the sides or roof.
But for your issue, putting a single roof bar and attaching lights to that. Would that work? Agreed it would take up a bit more space than just a single light. Or a suction cup with a steel plate on top so you could use your existing light?

A roof bar could be fitted but I don't want it attached permanently. What I need is something that doesn't take up much space in the boot and can be quickly fitted and removed as necessary.
Building a suction mounted steel plate would probably work.... I was just hoping there was a simpler ready-made solution.

That's the sort of thing I was looking for, but not at that price
Similar mag-mount units are about 1/10th that cost (they might not be great quality but it will only get used very rarely).
