    One good reason for buying a pre April 2017 D5 is the reduced rate, an unknown element on post April 17 vehicles is what will the tax rate be after the £140+ £310 rate ends after 5 years, you can bet it won't go down.
    I suppose you could view the cost difference between model years as being a bit of compensation for the extra oil change Laughing

    The principal is marginally irksome, but in the grand scheme of things ......

    Put it another way, I’d be really peed off if I had to pay £500 excise licence on a Disco Sport HSE at a smidgen over £40k than a D5 at over £60k.

    The other issue with the forty grand stealth tax is that whereas the annual road tax element increases each year the 40K limit does not. Before long mundane hatchbacks will be in there.
