    Road Tax Query - help

    Hi all

    I’m starting to look more seriously at changing to the D5 now.

    Can anyone give me some figures on road tax as I’m a little confused.

    I’d be keen to know if there was any difference between the 2.0 and 3.0 as well.

    What confuses me most is how it all changes now from first year to second etc

    Wouldnt anything registered after Apr 2017 be £450 (£140+£310) for the first 5 years.

    When I ordered my D5 SE 3 litre in March the RFL was quoted at £800 but the sneaky Government put it up 1st April so when I took delivery in late April it cost me £1420 Sad
    Hidden among the total cost, I didn't spot it until I sat down at home after delivery, shock, horror, cough, cough, choke !!

    oh well when I put the order in a few weeks ago for my 3L HSE is now £1760!! for the first registration gone up again since April this year.

    Thanks for the info folks, nearly spat my shreddies out at breakfast when I saw the DVLA reminder for 450 pounds. Think my previous Freelander with 2.2 engine was nearer 220 pounds.

    I think its this: anything registered after Apr 2017 be £450 (£140+£310) for the first 5 years (so thats from first renewal date, not the first time its ever taxed) if the new value is over 40k.
