    One thing I’m not sure of....while using CarPlay, is all data used through the connected phone, or the car data? I presume the phone data, as CarPlay is just using the phone for everything.

    Phone data. CarPlay is effectively a second screen for the iPhone.

    So to confirm this is able to be added to all Discovery 5's no matter what model or year?
    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
    Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.

    My 5 is in at Guy Salmon, Stratford on Avon. I asked for Phase 5 to be installed. The lady was not happy I even know about Phase 5 and said it was still in development at LR HQ. When I asked for it to be installed she said is isn't released to dealers until mid to late October.

    Anyone else had this experience?

    Phase 5 is NOT released yet. End October I heard.

    The Smartphone pack is applied to Phase 4 version 18C (the latest Phase 4 release).

    I did read that depending on the vehicle it can or cannot yet be applied though, which is why I am interested if UrbanSplash's D5 is a MY17 or MY18 car.

    ahhh... 18C is OK to install as far as I know. Maybe the smartphone pack will be available for MY17 with 18C soon then ?

    Need UrbanSplash to confirm his MY - though he did say it was a MY17 he was collecting last Saturday...

    I called my dealer today and they said that they have phase 5 but are only allowed to test on their stock cars currently. No customer cars allowed it until the testing is over, which is likely to be around the end of October.
