    2018 Discovery Sd4 (240) HSE Corris Grey

    Am I imagining this?

    Afternoon all

Picked up my MY18 HSE last week and loving every minute of it. Economy is so much better than my previous LR4.
Anyway, a couple of times now I have pulled into the driveway and as soon as I engage Park the car switches itself off without me pushing the start/stop button.
Is this correct? Or am I missing something.......

    Thanks
    Paul

It’s usually once u take ur seatbelt off when it’s in park... mine does it & it’s very annoying sometimes when u don’t want the car go turn off.. but i’ve resolved to putting it on N & manually putting the hand brake :/

It’s the stop/start system. Is the ignition still on until you unclip the belt ?

If you select R or D it should restart again. Should only completely turn off when you release the drivers seat belt.

There's a member on the AULRO forum who reported this same thing. He said it is not the stop/start, when he gets home the car turns off and gearbox goes into park. See here.

Our Disco Sport did this and so does the discovery 5. The manual explains it somewhere, but I can’t for the life of me remember the correct sequence. In the sport it used to be reverse to park plus seat belt release and it assumes you’re done with motoring and turns off. Drive to park didn’t achieve the same, proving that landrover drivers always and ever so sensibly reverse park?

There is the "Driver Exit" feature, in the manual it is in the "Stop/Start" section.

But is it just engine stop or a complete shutdown?

Stop/Start on mine shuts off the engine when I select P and then if I unbuckle the car shuts down.
