Hi guys, looking for information here. I have a 2018 LUX, but it didn't come with homelink. It has the auto dimming mirror without the homelink buttons. Can anybody advise if this can be swapped, or is there more to it, i.e. installation of a wiring harness etc?
I suspect it’s a straight swap if you can get the mirror for sensible money. The auto dim facility needs the 12v supply and that’s what feeds the homelink transmitter inside the mirror.
I did the same swap with my old XF and the mirror used to be a standard fitment across most of the JLR range but alas it changed a few years back to a slimmer design.
Last time I tried to find a slim mirror it was over £400. Needles to say I have a key fob stuck to the side of the mirror mount instead. That cost about 40p.
