Doing Modifications
Hi All
Looking at buying a D5 SdV6 SE. Previously had D3s and D4s.
Are people doing their own improvements to the D5? For example, one item I will miss is the heated steering wheel. On the D3 site there are plenty of threads about how to source and fit a heated wheel. Same with remote heat, cubby fridge etc etc.
Are people adding these kind of accessories themselves to the D5? Is it any more tricky/difficult? Is it just the lack of an IID tool holding people back?
My first mods will be to self fit the roof rails and a second hand towbar.
Interested in what people are doing to their D5.

No, you can’t mod the car, there no way to alter the CCF - at the moment.
Roof bars, tow bar, rubber mats, mudflaps is about it.
People tend to buy a D5 that suits their needs rather than buy one and mod it.

In just over 2 months I have .....
Fitted new Dynamic grille
Fitted black roof bars
Fitted mud flaps
Fitted black pack vents
Fitted black pack mirrors
Fitted Dynamic bumper inserts
Mainly cosmetic because my HSE Lux comes with most bits.
Roof will be wrapped black in the next month
HSE Lux in Silver / Black

Steve, nip onto the D5 owners page on FB, Paul Muscat will tell you about modifications. From memory he has at least added a fridge, 2nd battery, driving lights, , lifted the suspension. Others have added a winch.
2023 D300 Metropolitan, Hakuba Silver, Low Range, Solar screen, Deployable towbar, FBH, sidesteps.
