Setting up InControl account
I purchased a 1 year old D5 from a LR dealer in September and have been repeatedly trying to set up the InControl apps and sort out a Map update. I have registered on both the navigation and InControl web sites but when I go to add vehicle on either, I can look up the VIN but there is no option to add the correctly identified car(on InControl) and the added car does not get added to My Account on the landrover.here site .
I have asked on four or five occasions at the dealership over the last month and they have tried to add the vehicle but say "the website is down" on each occasion.
Does any one know if the InControl registration system is working as it seems strange for LR to have a such a system down for 4 weeks.
Software on the car is 19B
CarPlay is in place.
Active data sim in use and working
Many thanks

What do you mean that you can look up the VIN?
Are you sure that it is not still registered to another user?

Thank you for the response.
On both of the sites, to add a vehicle there is a VIN lookup.
I put the VIN of the car in and it confirms colour of the car. It does not indicate that it is registered to another user. But on the InControl site there is only a button to cancel the addition and none to confirm the addition of the car to my registration. Similarly on the landrover.here site it identifies the car but it is not added.
The dealer states the car has been assigned to me on the LR system but that another system “is down”.

Dealership has tried on a number of occasions to no avail. Now they think it is the car’s software after consultations with JLR specialists. Car is now in waiting for a software patch to be sent down.

Car returned with InControl connected and working. JLR authorised replacement of the TCM/TCU. Apparantly this is a lump of electronics which controls telemetry and links to GPS etc.
Hopefully this is now sorted.

Not sure what they what did. I was getting really cheesed off with dealership as the car had been in a few timed and this was added to the list each time and got a variety of excuses, dealers computers down, LR computers down, LR system fault. Eventually I gave an ultimatum for this and other issues. It was escalated to LR and local specialist. Sorted out with replacement of TCU.
