Navigation volume adjustment from silent
So, when one has turned the navigation volume all the way off, NOT using the "mute" soft key, how does one then turn it back up? All the manual says is the volume can be adjusted when you hear the navigation voice maneuvers. Well, if you can't hear it...
On the D4 there was a system setting for navigation volume, can't seem to find an equivalent here.
Someone
please tell me I'm being an idiot and there is a way around this.

No your not... have noticed if i am on phone and i turn volume up it increases phone volume, If i have radio on Volume controls radio. etc. So with Nav I think if you start Navigating somewhere and then turn voume up it will work. A bit silly in my opinion they need a Volume Setting. Are you listening Land Rover
- Volume Control Settings
- Increments Default to 1 but f$Xk LR it takes me 15 spins of the volume control to turn it up
- Vol Level Phone
- Vol Level Nav
etc.. It would be simple to do this And while Im on a rant can we have a simple calander Shortcut. ie we have one for Ambient Lighting, can we have one for a basic Calander..
Rant Over for now.

You could set a route. Then press the repeat last command icon. Increase your volume at that point. Then use the mute button in future.

repeat last command icon
can't find that, is that available on the HSE's larger screen interface?
there is a note in the nav volume that says:
The volume of the safety camera alert feature is linked to voice guidance volume.
If that means the backup object avoidance beep volume, I can adjust and hear that and it is working OK. The weird thing is whatever is playing through the media system doesn't even mute like one thinks it would when coming up to a turn with nav routing active. I'm beginning to think something else might be amiss. I fear I may have to have the dealer reset it next time I'm in for something.
(and yes, I've tried flipping between "Mute" and not muted modes for navigation several times )

Ha, fixed it finally. I had a thought yesterday as I was updating the maps via USB, that maybe it wasn't volume at all and it simply wasn't speaking. So I thought to try changing the system language/gender. Proceeded to change it to UK English and back to American English and it started working. Whatever...

I had long silences when I had the system set to UK English. Was a little like talking to my ex
It is odd that the directions come from one voice and the place names another.
One thing that is hilarious is the inability of the voice to pronounce many of the french names we have up here in Quebec

alright, I'm apparently not done with this thread after all.
so, now I can successfully turn down the volume during an announcement. the problem is this adjustment isn't persistent! It goes right back to... 11 (Nigel Tufnel would be proud) on each successive navigation report. Is this really the way it's suppose to work?!
