I am looking at the new-style LR activity key which looks more like a watch (LR147249). Googling around, this seems to essentially be a full-blown key with a screen and wristband and works using the normal wireless system.
i.e. it does not need the additional transponder like the previous key.
If this is really just a jazzed-up key, I assume that if can be paired with a vehicle just like any other key. The same key is used for '21 Defender and I have seen a video of someone using an IID to pair it. It seemed a little problematic but they got it to pair.
So, is it the same story with a '21 Disco5 ? It is listed on the accessories page for it so I assume it is compatible.
Question is, If I buy one, do I have to get dealer to enable it or can it be done by anyone with an IID type tool ?
