    Hmmm...

    An even more upmarket Discovery means it squeezes the Range Rover Sport, which we cross-shopped before deciding on the Disco 5 due to its more capability at a $10K lower price point than the RRS.

    Range Rover should go fully electric. Discovery needs to remain the go-anywhere family vehicle, with Defender remaining the ultimate in off-road capability - even if for most drivers, that capability is only an idea rather than reality.

    So-called "purists" here in the US will continue to decry the gentrification of the Land Rover line, but few have ever seen an old Defender or Discovery, much less ridden in one, and fewer still have ever driven one.
