Just heard from the LR dealer. Following testing and oil sample analysis, the engine was described as very poorly and will need replacement paid for by LR Extended Warranty. Unable to discover what constitutes very poorly, but who am I to question the engineering team.
Just need to wait for a new engine to be sourced.
Cheers

Collected my D5 today, following engine change. Once it has done 1000 miles to run in, it will be given a health check. Had an Evoque on loan, not a patch on the D5.

And yet my dealership specifically told me the engine doesn’t need running in and just keep to the original service requirements. Go figure.
I’ve now done 2.5k in it and it seems fine, but marginally lacks the power it has before.
