Retro Fit Wade Sensing?
Hi All,
I've had my D5 for about 9 months now, and have been using it for greenlaning trips a fair bit. I like to use the 4x4i screen and the camera view too. One thing that I do not have in 4x4i is the Wade Sensing - I was just wondering it is possible to retro fit this with new mirror housings with sensors or if it is "from factory, or not at all".
Also, is there anything else in 4x4i worth activating that doesn't need additional hardware?
Cheers

As far as JLR are concerned, anything added to the original warranted vehicle is a no no….and they simply won’t do it.
Your only recourse is to speak to some of the independent LandRover conversion specialists who are familiar with what’s already ‘in place… but not connected” and will be able to answer your question.

Thanks @Wolfpack.
I know that my mirrors dont have the sensors so would require hardware too, just wasnt sure if the wiring would be in place up to the mirrors so I could change the bodies.
It does seem like a bit of a wasted effort/money (at £1300) for a "gimmick" really. (I say gimmick because really you want to be checking depth before entering, not entering and then realising its too deep and having to back-up back out of the water)

My current D5 came with wade sensing as standard. I really don't see any point of it - it's just a gimmick.
When crossing rivers in real life, if you want to see how deep the water is, you can just look out of the window.
What you really need to know is everything that wade sensing can't tell you - Is the current strong enough to push the vehicle downstream, is it going to get deeper as I drive forward and are there any underwater obstructions (e.g. large rocks, deep holes) ahead?
