    Deployable Side Steps - positions

    Hi All,

    I have deployable side steps on my 22MY car. The steps don't quite line up parallel to the body of the car when retraced, and the leading edge seems to stick out a little bit (more so on the drivers side). They seem to look fine once deployed. Not sure if this is how they fit, asI don't have any comparison.

    Anyone have these, or have advice? Is this how they fit normally?

    I certainly don't recall the steps on mine sitting proud of the bodywork.

    I'll take some pictures over the weekend.

    Thanks. Someone on a Facebook group confirmed they are out of alignment and that there is a trim part missing that fits at the end of the wheel arch to stop all the crap going between the step and the body.

    Will be getting this sorted by the dealership.

    Would appreciate any photos to help see what they should look like.

    It may be worth considering fitting the front mudflaps. I did so, when having the steps installed, as I assumed it would help prolong the life of the actuators.

    Coincidentally, there was a car in that day, that was suffering that very issue. The mechanics cleaned up the mechanisms and all was good, but the task is not covered under warranty, so it's either a goodwill gesture, or a bump to the wallet. The parts manager explained they recommend mudflaps when deployable side steps are fitted.

    Here are the pictures of the deployable side steps in their stowed position. They don't protrude, yet they can be seen.

    Thanks for sharing these. Mine are not the same, as they dont run parallel to the car. The leading edge is almost a little too far out, and the trailing edge too far in. Yours looks to line up much better to the side/edge of the car body and look neater.

    I will look at the front flaps, as the dealer is supplying the missing shields, but I think the larger flaps might be a better idea too.
