    2021 D300 with 20in Defender wheels

Does anyone have any photos of a D300 fitted with 20in Defender wheels (type 5098 or similar).

I'm currently on 22in but I always prefer a lesser diameter and new tyre time is approaching.

    Do 20's actually fit a D300 (MY2021).

    Any thoughts appreciated..

I was looking at this a while ago, was keen to have a set of 20's with chunky tyres. I found some posts suggesting that there was a 5mm difference in offset between the defender and Discovery 5 meaning a spacer might have to be used on the Discovery, but didn't find any confirmation of that. I believe 20" is the smallest size that can be fitted and clear the brake calipers. Also be interested to see some photos if anyone has done the swap successfully.
Also wondering if Range Rover Sport rims might be a closer size match?
There's a lot of sometimes conflicting info online, at the time I gave up on the idea.

There is a 6mm offset difference between D3/D4 20" wheels and D5 20" wheels, however I believe that RRS and Defender wheels are a direct swap with D5 wheels.

I have seen some posts about people having problems with Defender TPMS valves not working on D5s? I don't know why, they should be compatible and it is only a scattering of posts not a common problem.

Well answering my own original question here.

I have just changed my 22's for a set of Defender 20's (type 5098).

Sooo much quieter..... sooo much smoother.... sooo much nicer to drive really!

No regrets at all and I actually really like the look too!

Mirror caps next if I can work out how to get the Censored off!

Yep, I fitted 20 inch Defender wheels as well, think they really suit the Discovery 👍

20" Defender Wheels on Discovery 5 D300 Metropolitan

I've just fitted a set of 20" Defender 5098 style wheels (cost £370 inc good tyres from eBay!) on my '23 plate Discovery D300 - which had 285/40/R22 originally. The tyres that are now on are 255/60/R20 .... technically 255/55/R20 are a better match as diameter is an almost exact swap (but the 60 profile ones I have on seem fine). It's certainly more comfortable and quieter, and opens up way more tyre options like General Grabber AT3 which I'll probably fit once my Pirelli Scorpion Zeros have expired. These defender alloys are available for very little money for some reason and plenty about on eBay. Highly recommend the swap for either comfort or off-road ability.

    I like them Thumbs Up

I've got the older style 20" wheels on my 2017 TD6...I fitted the slightly extra sidewall 255/60/R20 tyres on mine rather than the standard 255/55/R20's. Still Pirelli zeros...but they're a good hard wearing all season tyre and suit my 60/40 on-off road useage.

The Pirelli's handle deep snow, deep water, wet roads, muddy farm tracks and muddy fields just fine...but that's more down to the traction control than the tyres.

I drop the tyre pressures if the fields are particularly bad...but I fitted an onboard ARB compressor so I can easily pump the tyres back up to road pressures when I'm done chasing cows around. Wink
