Connection services expired
3 years ago I purchased a map update which I didn’t notice at the time included ‘connection services subscription’. Duh.
For the last 6 months I have been unable to sync my destinations, created in route planner on the Mac, with the car.
I have just discovered that my 3year map purchase has expired. As we don’t tend to go many places that we don’t know in the D5, the installed maps have been ok …so I wasn’t “needing” to upgrade the maps yet.
However the connection services includes the ability to transfer your destinations to the car.
I’ve got the 3 “protect”, “remote premium” and “pro services” subscriptions active for the iremote app…but apparently this is something different. Bizarre that I can remotely look at my journey details after the event but I need another subscription to tell the car where I want to go from my armchair!
The other question to be answered is……do I also need to have the additional data sim installed to have this feature to work?

Not sure I can answer your question, but back in June, I opted to renew Online Pack with Data Plan, Remote and Secure Tracker Pro. I elected not to renew Connected Navigation Pro, as I use Apple of Google for SatNav.
That said, on one occasion since when I didn't have a mobile signal and hadn't got the relevant map downloaded to Apple or Google, I had to briefly rely on the LR nav system and it worked fine for basic navigation.
Have wondered what the "Data Plan" is I got with the online pack, but presumed that's more so the car can show me the weather etc. I never opted for the WiFi hotspot when I bought this car, so I don't think it gives me access to that.
