WeatherTech has contacted me and I'm trying to explain the differences in the cargo area layouts. Their first question is, of course, is this the Discovery Sport? Stupid LR naming...
Well today, after another round of phone calls and emails with CSR's, with the important bits circled in red, WeatherTech’s product development team now knows there are two variations of the cargo area. They apparently had -no- idea. (Hey, I didn’t either ).
They intend to run out *today* and scan a new boot with the rear AC hump in place, which is great... But, development times being what they are, they likely won’t have these in production until February.
I guess I shouldn't be shocked at this point... the Travall doesn't fit either.
Which is kinda odd because you see they tried to accommodate for the rear AC with the removable piece, but the template is off. I went back and checked and even though they ask questions about your vehicle's climate there appears to be only one SKU, no matter what one chooses for HVAC. Maybe there is an error in 5 or 7 seat configuration, who knows.
You all should thank me for being the resident cargo liner guinea pig.
My D5 came with the LOADSPACE RUBBER MAT EXTENSION
But NOT the LOADSPACE RUBBER MAT
So i can cover the middle row of seats but not the rear one. A bit useless for me. Now it just sits there with corners going up the sides of the boot as it's too wide to cover the 3rd row.
Dealer said they would order the Loadspace mat for me and take the extension back, but that was a month ago and still no news.
You can see how the Land Rover Loadspace mat is installed with the different configurations.
Scroll down and you will see the parts you cut out for the 3rd row seat belts.
Wow. I like it. You cut it into pieces. Like the open 3rd raw option. I have also ordered the original without AC version with the extension mat. I also want to cut the piece where the AC should be, just to have it separately even with the 3rd raw open.
Thanks for the Travall pics for the D5 without rear AC! That extra piece is still a bit of a mystery, because the way it's cut it doesn't fill that entire space either. Hmmm.
So Travall got back to me today after their design department was consulted and said sorry about the confusion, at this time we don't have anything that'll fit my D5 (with the AC hump). They've offered to give me a discount to keep it or full refund if I ship it back.
I'll probably just take the discount and keep it rather than ship it back across the pond. I could live with it as is or just trim it a bit (but then would lose the edge lip). It's good quality and sooo much cheaper than LR's offering.
