I tried connecting on my iPhone via the MiFi device and the browser did not require authentication to get to the usage and top up screen. It is possible that I had some kind of session cookie but from any other connection you see the logon screen, so I am 99% sure this should work fine.

It doesn't look like you have any mechanism to read the SMS's based on the iGuide, but this suggests this may not be necessary. I may also try the option of using the MIFI instead of the cars WIFI, it will be a balance of fast 4g versus the better aerial but 3g.

    Thanks Neil

I have found this video explaining a Discovery sports " intouchcontrol pro" connectivity. If the D5 has same system does it shed any light?

That confirms how I thought it would work.
    Thanks,

Good find Jim, I'm going to read the PDF manual before I sign up

Edit: it says the dealer will connect car & you need VIN number to setup...... best to wait

Yes, the dealer should do it all for us and then we just log in to use the system.

My accounts still active from when I had the DS, though there is no cars linked to the account, deleted it before trade in. Still have the app on my phone also.

    Hi J77
Did dealer set up you and your DS ?

    I'm thinking of password security.

Dealer set the car up, then I had to create an account and register the car to my account later that day so dealer doesn't know anything about your password Thumbs Up

You could probably set up an account at the moment, ready for when you collect the car.

    Hi,

When I set up my RRS AB, I needed the VIN number and registration number to do it.

We also found that initialising the account works better from a PC than an IPad/iPhone.

One thing on the EE SIM from Amazon - SWMBO has got hers but trying to identify exactly which one it is in the T&C's is a nightmare! My worry is that it states some SIMs can't be used as "hotspots"!!!!!!

I hope ours can! Big Cry Big Cry

Yep should've said that, needs a PC/Mac rather than a tablet to set up.

I'm forgetting you need the VIN

    Guys

Did any of you having any joy setting up the EE SIM that you found on Amazon? Car is due at the end of the month, and I'm keen to get the SIM ordered in advance.

    Thanks

As I do a lot of travelling in Europe and especially Ireland, will sim that is installed in ICTP function?
The reason why I ask is that certain countries (including Ireland) do not have a certain licence that require Land Rover to work the street view nav for example, or any Land Rover apps for that matter.
