Anyone else's in control remote app stopped working?
As soon as I launch the App (IOS) just get this message and you can't click on any 3 of the options. Closing the app and relaunching does exactly the same each time (& pretty much instantly).
Running the latest version etc.
Very annoying when car covered in ice this morning and couldn't pre-heat.
It's always a bit hit and miss to get it to talk to the car. But App won't even launch now.
Have to say compared to our Audi and Golf, the general infotainment / bluetooth / overall connectivity is very poor. 10 year old Audi will link to my phone every time without fail. Discovery 50:50.
With the app not even launching and not being able to try and contact the car, I think it's an app issue as opposed to the car. But it's due a service soon so will be interesting to see what updates it gets.
Delete the app and reinstall. Do a hard reset of the phone in between. Power and Home buttons together until you see the Apple logo appear. Then go for a drive 5 miles plus. Stop (engine running) and press and hold the assistance call button for 15 seconds. The left hand one. NOT the SOS button The light should flash on and off (car is syncing to InControl). Now open Remote and log in again.
If you can, open the app before all this then log out before deleting.
This fixed my issues. And everything syncs back after a few minutes.
Make sure you have good mobile signal for the car (Vodafone I believe).

Thanks Simon. I installed the app on my daughter's phone, logged in and it all worked. So looks like I need to delete and reinstall on my phone and hopefully won't have to re sync with the car.
We too had a very cold morning here yesterday (30th Jan), with ice on the car. And the InControl Remote app done something very weird...
I opened the app, clicked on the 'Start' button and entered the pin code. As I was outside de-icying my sons car I heard my car start up. I put the phone back in my pocket, and after about 10 seconds the car stopped. I got my phone out of my pocket and saw the the app still had the words 'Start' on the button. So pressed it again, entered the pin code and the car started again (and the button now said 'Stop' as you would expect). Phone in pocket again and the car stopped again... weird!
So started it a third time, and this time instead of putting the phone in my pocket, I placed it on my sons driving seat, closed his door and started de-icying his car - My car carried on and didn't stop this time...
First thoughts was that I have an iPhone X, so with the face recognition, if you aren't looking at the screen the screen goes into sleep mode, and I wonder if maybe this was 'telling' the app that it should stop?
Anyone else had anything similar happen? I don't know of theres a specific contact department/email address I can email my finding too, so they can investigate?
so famous last words! After all my going on about the Incontrol Remote app working (almost) flawless - the blasted thing didn't work this morning!
I know there was an IOS update last night for the app, and now I can see a few changes to the main app (such as a red dot with a key icon on the map where the car is). However, after this update I can't get the remote climate to work. I input my pin code and the wait icon (with the rotating dots) starts, says its contacting the car... and then stops trying after about a minute.
I've tried restarting the phone, closing and opening the app, even removing and installing the app again, but alas nothing seems to be helping.
So I guess i'm back to the good old scraper!
Does anyone know the best way to let LR know about InControl issues?
The new version isn’t updating my car status at all. Just quoting the last time it was updated. This was just before I updated the app and hasn’t changed overnight. It’s like the car has gone to sleep (this happens after 4 days not a few hours).
So is it an app issue or their server backend again ?
I’m also wondering if InControl Secure will actually notify me and the stolen vehicle centre ?? If Remote doesn’t work, does Secure?
Only way I’ve had a response from LR is via a Twitter direct message and then it’s just a note to say they will pass on my comment to the relearn team and to ensure I’m running the latest version of the app
Whoever tests software for LR needs to be sacked. There seems to be no little to no quality control.
