    Well I suppose we should be thankful they are keeping it up to date. If they didn't update it for years then we would be moaning.

    Heres an idea, might suggest this to LR - What about adding the infotainment updates to the downloadable files on their website? That way we could update our own!? Very Happy

    Mind you I suppose that puts the responsibility on the driver to install the updates correctly, so could be opening a can of worms!

    I think they have a whole new map download for all the covered regions. Seems Here haven’t worked out how to build and release map patches like TomTom yet Wink

    Yes it is a pain downloading the whole thing every time, but it does seem to install quickly and I presume it is only updating where necessary?

    My 17GB updates take about 7-8 mins. It’s just a copy and verify of the whole map and POI database. It’s not really updating anything in the traditional sense.

    Really, mine is 29GB and takes probably 20 minutes for the first 50% or so then flys through the rest.

    probably 17gb compressed... 20odd once uncompressed for install. anyways you need to use the map down-loader app that installs it straight onto the usb (uncompressed) ready to install. thats my guess at least.

    All the various map areas change at the same time. I wonder if they just update the numbers to keep them in sync?

    Is it me or is the download tool the slowest ever?

    I’ve really good download bandwidth and a USB keystick but because the downloader insists on writing to the usb keystick and the maps consist of some 750 small files it’s takes an eternity.

    I would have thought a singular large file would be quicker, and 5he ability to download to a hard disk then to copy onto a keystick after would have been so much easier.

    What is it with LR (and associates) software. It’s either buggy or they find the most difficult download tool ever!

    Just started to download the map update for the Velar, man it’s taking for ever, I’m on part 15 of 751 which is 7.9% of the download. Yawn
