looks like LR package the battery under the boot so may well compromise the Spare wheel, Guess it causes another problem for the D5 as said above its where the 3rd row goes. Will require a different approach to the FFRR and Sport which is probably why its not coming anytime soon.
Volvos solution is clever getting rid of the drivetrain and using the tunnel.
Apologies i know I've taken this off topic a bit !
MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten, MY12 HSE - Gone, MY16 HSE Luxury - Gone, D5 MY20 D5 HSE - Gone
MY23 Range Rover PHEV
Getting back on topic - I just thought to check what 3.0d engine is on the full day Range Rover - it’s the 258bhp still and not the 300 that’s now fitted to the D5. So they haven’t dropped the engine altogether
I suspect it's there to give the L-405 a theoretical entry-level price close to £80K (£80,035) while just £6,930 more buys the impressive 2.0 Litre P400e Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (404HP), a faster, more economical and 56% more powerful vehicle:
-Power: 404hp
-Torque: 640Nm
-Maximum Speed mph: 137
-Acceleration 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds
-CO₂ emissions g/km: 64
-Combined Fuel Economy mpg: 101
-Electric only range: 31 miles
The TDV6 had to comply with EU6 from 16MY onwards and because of this its exhaust architecture is still believed to suffer from the problems described in the July '17 SCN. Surely the practical entry level all-diesel Range Rover is now the £87,260 4.4 Litre SDV8 Diesel (339HP)?
I've just read the P400e review and, already being a big fan of petrol-electric hybrids, I have to say it sounds like a fantastic driving experience, with some very clever touches like look-ahead terrain mapping which adapts the electric profile to suit upcoming conditions. In the UK, the P400e is more expensive than the TDV6 in all trim levels, contrary to one of the observations in the US article.
