Diesel/ burning /exhaust smell in cabin
My new 3.0 td6 has now done over 2,000 miles. I was waiting to see if this issue would go away. But if anything it is getting worse. Basically, every time you stop, with engine running, I get a diesel smell in the cabin. I can’t smell it if I get out and walk around the car and it never occurs on the move. The first few times I assumed it was DPF regeneration, but it occurs every journey, even after 100miles of quick driving. I don’t live near a LR dealer so not easy to just drop in. The car has already been back for issues and still needs software updates etc, but I can live without fully working phone or music.
Anyone else have this smell issue? Thanks.

Had it in my D4 when the crossover pipe cracked.

We had it in a disco sport recently due to a failed gasket on the turbo. Was worst when slow, because passing air didn’t keep the leaking smoke away from the cabin air intake.

I have the same problem as soon as outside temperatures are getting lower and I have a parking heater (Eberspächer), it switches on while I am driving to warm up a diesel engine and when I stop or drive very slowly the ventilation system sucks in the exhaust gases from the heater (they come out from the right front side of the car, near the front wheel) and I get the diesel smell. Only helps to block the incoming air intake and switch on the internal air circulation)

I did wonder about it being the diesel heater, but we are mid summer, unless it has a fault. I’ll try the air recirc and if that stops the smell.

Pretty certain it won't be a diesel heater

Hi,
Did you ever get a fix for the smell in the cabin? I have the same issue currently on my 2019 SDV6 306 variant.
It seems to be very sporadic in occurring.
