2022 Discovery SDV6 HSE Carpathian Grey

    Off Road Height 1 & 2

    So, the manual says this....

    Quote:
The off-road height setting is dependent on the vehicle's speed. The Off-Road 1 height is 40 mm above the normal height setting, up to a maximum vehicle speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). The Off-Road 2 height is 75 mm above the normal height setting, up to a maximum vehicle speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). The suspension height can change automatically between these heights. To view the current off-road height setting, select Vehicle Dimensions from the EXTRA FEATURES menu. See EXTRA FEATURES.

The Off-Road 2 height can be manually selected with the suspension at Off-Road 1 height. Press the up button (1) at any vehicle speed up to 40 km/h (25 mph).

And indeed, when I select off-road height when parked, it goes to Off-Road height 2. When I drive above 31mph it lowers to Off-Road height 1. But, then it stays at Off-Road height 1 it doesn't automatically raise when I slow down and pushing the raise button even when stopped does nothing. To get back to off-road height 2 I have to first select normal height then re-select off-road height.

This contradicts what the manual says - is the manual wrong or is my car misbehaving? Do other cars behave like mine or as the manual states?

On mine I have to have it in a special mode (rock crawl, mud/ruts...) before it will automatically go back into 2 from 1. If it's in Auto, mine doesn't automatically go back to height 2. I'll try at lunch to see if I can raise it back up to 2 from 1 in Auto.

Mine doesn't automatically drop to access height when in off road height. that only works from normal ride height.

It drops a bit when you’re stopped and someone unclips a seatbelt, then drops the rest to get to access mode when a door is opened.

I can not get mine to go to off-road height 2. When in off-road height I go to dimensions and never see it go any higher then 1. What am I doing wrong?

When you select off road height while parked or moving slowly, it goes to off-road height 2. Then when you drive above 31mph, it lowers to off-road height 1. You can't manually select off-road height 1 but I can't find a way to get back to off-road height 2 without selecting normal height first.

I did it recently when stationary, just to fit mud flaps without taking the wheels off.

I think the dimensions screen only shows access, standard and off road height (max height).

It shows off-road height 1 as the off-road height symbol with a pair of arrows numbered 1&2 next to it and the lower arrow highlighted.
