    Changing wheels - axle stands

    Hi guys,

since I drive cars I am swapping wheels myself. Never used axle stands. But lots of people recommend it, for safety reasons. So I was about to order a pair and use them. BUT I simple can't figure out, where to place them.

On the D4 it would be easy, just somewhere below the frame.
But on the D5, it's not... The D5 got 4 spots (one for each wheel) that can support the weight of the car. But that's where the jack lift goes. So I just looked below the car. Couldn't find any suitable place.

One of the guys on facebook puts it below the swing arms. But I think this is not a good idea. Once the car is being lifted, the suspension will sink down, altering the angles of the swing arms. Placing a axle stand there will result in the stand tipping over or slipping of, once the weight shifts and the is suspension going up again, causing the angles to shift back.

So I have no freaking idea where to put those stands.

Anyone here that has an idea?

    Greets,
    Hauser

I see you didn’t get a response to this question.

    Did you find a solution?

Does anyone have any good advice for where to place the axle stands?
