2017 Discovery Td6 HSE Silicon Silver

Love the black wheels - mine is Silicon Silver too, and I wanted them to hide brake dust and dirt, but I couldn't convince the wife on it. "It would look too...I don't know, like a *man car*..."

    Well...yeah....

Then three months after we bought it, "You should have got the black wheels...the silver ones get so dirty..." Thud

Now considering powder coating them, maybe a graphite gray.

But a scratch on black wheels is visible from a mile and on silver ones only from a meter Wink

    But black does look good!

Dirty from brake dust or dirt from driving tracks? If it is brake dust, mine has little to none compared to my D4 where the wheels would be black in a week. So little, I wonder if they fitted ceramic brake pads.

You must be taking it easy Ron

We had a black demonstrator with 22 inch silver wheels
It looked nice , think black or blue with silver wheels looks good
But my favourite combo is the silver black or grey black
I liked Aruba, with big black wheels - don’t do it anymore, I think that’s what it was called
Prefer the look without the steps but wife n kids need them for hoping in
Mother in law is getting on, she struggles to climb in with the step

Towing was a dream, never touched the towball

They gave me 32 for my landmark
On the garage website the next day for 37
    Bit of tire wall paint
The alloys were unmarked , I’m guessing they must pay something for
    The two year warranty

£5k mark up seems normal so I’ve noticed.

Someone has to pay for the Latte machine, leather sofas etc

Mostly road grime in winter, some brake dust. I wax the wheels a couple times per year which helps them clean easier, but it's still a PITA.

When I go off-road, I usually leave it dirty for a couple days after... Cool

Hmm, hardly. Enjoying the extra horses compared to my TDV6 2.7 D4 too much. This is a picture taken earlier today of one of the front wheels, it's probably been 6-7 weeks since the last time it was washed. And has done about 3,000km in that time. On my D4, the rims would have been completely black from brake dust in that same time.

    Gleaming wheeels on a Sunday
Covered in brake dust by Wednesday
Good news if the new model seems better

Think I have almost the identical vehicle - picked it up last week and first big run down to Dunedin this weekend. Had the dealer update the Infotainment system and install Carplay and all going well so far. Thule Black Wingbar Edge to be added next week and should be all set for Ski season.
