Hi
Photo of my 22inch spare with I presume a LR protector in place.
Advice please if this is ok or do I need Rays special?
Have had his before on my RRS but sold it with the car..
Opinions please! Thanks
I understand that spares are still being stolen with the LR plate fitted, the cost of a Ray's special is alot less than a new wheel, tyre and winch. Small price to pay for peace of mind in my opinion.
Having had an Uncle Rays protector on a D4, I’d say the D5 factory one is okay and I’ve never felt the need to swap over. Personally I’d never heard of a new one having been removed, that said, nothing is 100% secure.
I've got one of Rays because I believe the LR one can still be cut off and the wheel stolen, were Rays seems to be a lot more secure
Here's photos
MY 21 3.0 D250 S White, 20in wheels, twin sun roof, privacy glass, heated stirring wheel, roof rails, side steps & mud flaps and dash cam front & back..
Gone 17reg 2.0 SE Silver, 21in black wheels, privacy glass, roof rails, side steps.
The spare wheel and QD tow hitch were stolen from my D3 HSE at Newry Railway Station. Thief was caught (40+ cases). However mine was off camera so he was not convicted for stealing my spare wheel etc. I requested his details so as to take Civil Action against him (small claims court). PSNI refused me this information. Hence my name for them (Perpetrators Supporters of Northern Ireland).
Oh, thank you very much. I really appreciate that. Being my first discovery (indeed, first Land Rover), I’m sure it won’t be long before I’ve clocked up lots of posts, asking questions, but your help is a warm welcome and looks like I’ve joined a great forum.
I bought a used Uncle Ray protector and fitted it with the LR one as well. Uncle Ray one on outside facing the ground. Presume that’s ok but please advise if not.
