Just tried OTA software update .
Just downloaded the latest software is OTA, seems easy enough to do. Not sure what the latest update has given though🤔 Any thoughts.

Does OTA cover the infotainment system or is it for the "hidden" stuff?

Any idea how large the OTA updates are. I understand you have to do it via the sim in the car and I'm not sure if it would exceed my basic monthly data amount - which is otherwise sufficient for live traffic etc.

You should be able to connect the car to your home's wifi and accomplish the update that way.

Yes. I wondered if that was possible. Just that the owners manual suggests it has to be via the sim? Who knows...

Speaking to dealer master tech yesterday he specifically said to connect to home WiFi rather than use data allowance. They enabled SOTA on mine. Also implication was only for infotainment not major systems yet. Many of the modules not yet fully setup for the service and there are concerns with major updates as in the dealership they connect to battery assist otherwise the car can drain the battery and ‘brick’ the ecu in question.

Hello,
Will confirm which update number it is later.
The update used approx 7MB that was the size that Landrover said the file was.
Think the infotainment is updated the same way to.

Sorry if I missed it but how do we do this?
I’ve connected the car by WiFi and sim, just need to know how to get the update started?
Thanks Sam

... is this saying even if I have software updates enabled I still need the dealer to activate something? (Mine just says “no updates available “... on latest 18 version and home Wifi)

I too wonder if the OTA updates have to be centrally activated after the car software is updated.
Our 2017 model was updated to S19A_19.11.4-330884 a couple of months ago with OTA apparently available but as yet no updates have materialised despite random manual checks.
