    Hi All,

For what it's worth I tow an Elddiss crusader tempest (8m twin axle plated at 1900kg) with my D4. It has a rear bike carrier which we nearly always use with two bikes, and tows superbly. Never been an issue, always a good solid tow which is the main reason for owning the D4.
I have been following many threads on the D5 with the intent of changing up from my 2014 D4.
However much I like the D5, I am not yet convinced, and if it's towing ability is compromised compared to the D4 then that's an issue.
I guess I wait for more towing reports, and hope they are good ones!

Glad your vans alot more stable after your lab test. Just an after thought, not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the D4 is a heavier car than the D5, as we all know, so possibly that 1/2 tonne extra weight helped the D4 make it a better towing vehicle than the D5. If that's the case then slimming down the D5 has been a bit of a design hiccup when it comes too towing but if this is the case surely it should have been factored into the equation Shocked

That was the very point I raised when the details of the D5 were first 'leaked' Whistle

I'd like to give my 2500kg van a tow with a D5 before committing myself to buying (not that I'm looking for new anyhow) so will be looking to have a long term test (2/3 days minimum) when the time comes. If you already have a HSE LUX in Firenze with the Dynamic pack, full tow pack and all the toys, look after it, it may be mine one day! Whistle

Am I right in saying that it's only the 2Lt car that is 480kg lighter? I'm sure that I read somewhere that the 3Lt car wasn't much lighter than the D4, but according to one of the salesmen that I spoke to, both versions of the D5 weigh the same.

Only the 2.0ltr that's 480kg lighter, spec dependant.

Am sure the 3l is 2.3 tonnes odd. There is a difference in weight between the 2 and 3 litre possibly 100kg extra due too the bigger engine Shocked

So the 3Lt has still lost about 380kg then

Looking here https://www.carleasingmadesimple.com/data/...rb-weight/ it looks like about 125kg is engine related, although many of the reviews talk about 60kg over the front wheels. I also don't know how well these are corrected for spec, I guess they have gone Heaviest D4 to lightest D5 when calling out the 480kg benefit.

From that link, the last two being D4's, cannot vouch for the data.
