No longer an owner
Sadly, after many years owning a LR i have decided I’ve had enough of dodgy reliability. My last car a 2017 TD6 HSE has had endless niggling faults. Electric seats that only worked when they want to, at least four visits to LR main dealer, still not working properly all the time., being stranded 200 miles from home with a caravan and two grandchildren having to be recovered in truck. Too many engine management warning light issues to mention, and local independent garage telling me that many issues were being flagged at last service in June, so I decided to get rid.
What have I replaced it with you may ask? Well, and do not laugh, a KGM (latterly known as Ssangyong) Rexton. Badge snobs look away now. After 6 weeks, what a car for the money! Paid £37k for an ex-demo ‘73 plate with 2,800 miles on the clock. Top spec, every conceivable goody you can think of fitted, and most importantly, utterly bullet proof - these things never go wrong.
Being fair the ride quality is not the same standard as the air suspension on the disco, and it’s off road credentials are not the same. But what i need is a 7 seater tow car capable of dealing with a muddy field, and most of all, that does not break down, it ticks all those boxes.
